A cat approaching his new dog sister on her first day home has left internet viewers in stitches.
TikTok poster @adventureswithbin shared a video of their big gray cat, Atlas, carefully edging toward Bingo, a beige rescue dog, who was lounging peacefully in his bed. The clip quickly went viral, racking up more than 4 million views and over 402,000 likes on TikTok. "Throwback to Bingo's first day home," the poster captioned the video.
In the footage, Atlas eventually taps Bingo's paw, prompting her to wake, before gently pawing at her again to garner her attention. Bingo momentarily flinches, and Atlas rolls onto his back in response. Later videos show the two snuggled up, clearly already best friends.
Introducing a cat and dog requires patience and careful observation. The Animal Humane Society says that gradual introductions in a controlled environment help reduce stress and encourage positive interactions.
Tips include keeping the animals separated at first, allowing them to sniff each other under supervision, and rewarding calm behavior.
Once the animals start feeling comfortable, they can develop a strong bond. The American Kennel Club notes that cats and dogs often get along well when both are socialized properly, with compatible temperaments and respectful boundaries. Over time, many felines and canines form deep, affectionate friendships, as Atlas and Bingo are already showing.
TikTok users were quick to share their love for the pair. "Can I pet that dog?" posted Jeanie.
Another added: "You have toe beans? I also have toe beans."

"You can tell they're gonna be besties," posted a third.
"There must be mistaken identity, normally it's the other way round," added another user.
"You raised an amazing cat," commented Reeva.
Bingo's old foster parents even came across the video. "BINGO! We were her foster parents while she was in Mississippi! I'm so happy to know she's doing so well !" added Destiny.
