Wildfires have broken out for a third day in a row at an east London park as the capital endures a boiling heatwave.
Firefighters were seen hosing down a section of Wanstead Flats next to Lake House Road on Wednesday morning.
Fire crews were seen showering brambles and grass land to prevent further blazes breaking out.
Two firefighters at the scene confirmed to the Standard that the fire had broken out shortly before 11am on Wednesday.
Grass fires had also broken out within three minutes of each other at Wanstead Flats and in Northolt, west London, shortly after 1.30pm on Tuesday afternoon.
A blaze burnt through around four hectares of the same parkland hours after a fire ripped through the park on Monday.
Firefighters had used a drone to monitor the size of the fire on Monday, and a specialist wildfire response vehicle was sent to the scene to support fire crews.
Footage from the fire on Monday showed large red flames burning through shrubs near a path at the park.
The burnt remains of the park could be seen next to waist high grasses.
Meanwhile, another eight fire engines and 60 firefighters tackled the grass fire in Northolt, with crews sent from Northolt, Ruislip, Hayes and surrounding fire stations, at 1.35pm on Tuesday.
An amber heat alert remains in place for the capital, with the London Ambulance Service warning people to check on their elderly neighbours and relatives.
